Aster flower knitting stitch is created in an unusual way to make flowers within a garter stitch border. Color changes give the stitch a lot of variety. So pretty for babies or scarves/shawls .
How to:- Aster stitch: slip 5 sts to RH needle dropping extra loops, slip these 5 sts back to LH needle, (purl 1, yarn over, purl 1, yarn over , purl 1) into all 5 sts together.
- Knit 1 under loose strand behind: Insert left hand needle, from front to back, under the loose strand behind next stitch, knit this strand with next stitch on needle.
