Cast on an odd number of sts and a 4 -row repeat.

Row 1 (Right side): K1, * put right-hand needle between 1st and 2nd sts and draw through a loop, leaving loop on right-hand needle, k2; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: P1, *  p1, p2tog; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: K2, * put right-hand needle between 1st and 2nd sts and draw through a loop, leaving loop on right-hand needle, k2; repeat from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: P3, * p2tog, p1; repeat from * to end.
