The sheaves of wheat is one of those knitting patterns that looks so intimidating, but once you understand the method is a lot of fun to knit. This textured is good for large and long knits, like blankets, afghans.
Knitting instructions:Cast on: multiples of 6 sts + 1.
Row 1: * Knit 4, purl 2; repeat from * to last st, knit 1.
Row 2: Purl 1, * knit 2, purl 4; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: * With yarn in back, insert right needle between next 4th and 5th sts on left needle; pull yarn through between sts, knit 4, then slip one strand of long st over 4 sts to wrap them; purl 2; repeat from * to last st, knit 1.
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: Knit all sts.
Row 6: Purl all sts.
Row 7: Knit 1, * Purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to end.
Row 8: * Purl 4, knit 2; repeat from * to last st, purl 1.
Row 9: Knit 1, * purl 2, with yarn in back, insert right needle between next 4th and 5th sts on left needle; pull yarn through between sts, knit 4, then slip one strand of long st over 4 sts to wrap them; repeat from * to end.
Row 10: Repeat row 8.
Row 11: Knit all sts.
Row 12: Purl all sts.
Repeat rows 1-12 until you have reached your desired length.
