Palm Leaf Pattern

This knitting stitch is not a difficult stitch if you have some experience

This knitting stitch is not a difficult stitch if you have some experience. It would also be a good choice as a knitting pattern when making a pillow.

Knitting instructions:
Palm Leaf: Purl 1, yarn back - insert right needle in loop (stitch) 4 rows down the 2nd stitch on left needle. Wrap working yarn around right needle as if to knit, and draw up a loop, pull the loop out sufficiently to cover the distance from the stitch 4 rows down to your right needle (in other words, don't let it get too tight). Purl 1, draw 2nd loop through same st, purl 1, draw 3rd loop through same st, purl 1, draw 4th loop through same st, purl 1, draw 5th loop through same st.

Cast on: multiples of 8sts + 1.
Row 1 (RS): Slip1 knitwise with yarn in back (wyib), * purl 7, slip 1 knitwise wiyb; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: Purl 1 through the back loop, * knit 7, purl 1 through the back loop; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: Slip1 knitwise wyib, * purl 3, knit 1, purl 3, slip1 knitwise wyib; repeat from * to end.

Row 8: Purl 1 through the back loop, * knit 1, (knit 2 sts together) 5 times, knit 1, purl 1 through the back loop; repeat  from * to end.
Repeat rows 1-8 until you have reached your desired length.
Please let me know if you cannot understand anything. Happy knitting!
