Diagonal Bobble Stitch # 1

Bobble Stitch is fun to do and can be found in both knitting and crochet. There are many ways to do these increases and decreases, and the bobble can be anywhere from three to six stitches wide, but the basic idea and method is the same. Bobble stitch is a great way to add texture and dimension to your knitting project

Knitting instructions:
Knit stitch: K
Purl stitch: P
Bobble: [ K1, P1, K1, P1 ] 4 sts made from 1 stitch

Cast on: multiple of 9 stitches + 8.

Pattern instructions: 

Row 1 (RS):  K2, *Bobble, p2, (k1, p2) twice* rep from * - * until the last 6 stitches, Bobble, p2, k3.

Rows 2 and 4:  K2, *p1, k2, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2, p1, k2* rep from *-* until the last 9 stitches, p1, k2, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2.

Rows 3 and 5:  K2, * (drop the yo, k1) 4 times, p2, (k1, p2) twice* rep from * - * until the last 13 stitches,  (drop the yo, k1) 4 times, p2, k3

Row 6:  K2, * p1, k2, p4 tog, k2, p1, k2* rep from * - * until the last 9 stitches,  p1, k2, p4 tog, k2

Row 7:  K2, * k1, p2, Bobble, p2, k1, p2* rep from * - * until the last 6 stitches,  k1, p2, Bobble, k2.

Rows 8 and 10:  K2, * (k1, yo) 4 times,  k2, (p1, k2) twice*  rep from * - * until the last 9 stitches, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2, p1, k2

Rows 9 and 11:  K2, * k1, p2, (drop the yo, k1) 4 times, p2, k1, p2*  rep from *-*  until the last 13 stitches,  k1, p2, (drop the yo, k1) 4 times, k2.

Row 12:  K2, * p4 tog, k2, (p1, k2) twice* rep from * - * until the last 9 stitches,  p4 tog, k2, p1, k2

Row 13:  K2, * (k1, p2) twice, Bobble, p2* rep from * - * until the last 6 stitches,  k1, p2, k3

Rows 14 and 16:  K2, * (p1, k2) twice, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2*  rep from * - * until the last 6 stitches,  (p1, k2) twice

Rows 15 and 17:  K2, * (k1, p2) twice, (drop the yo, k1) 4 times, p2 *  rep from *- * until the last 6 stitches,  k1, p2, k3

Row 18:  K2, * (p1, k2) twice, p4 tog, k2 * rep from * - * until the last 6 stitches, (p1, k2) twice

Repeat rows 1- 18 until you have reached your desired length.
