Broken Rib Slip Stitch- Knit Texture Looks A Lot Like Burlap Weave

Simple rib slip stitches in this pattern create a very interesting effect - knit texture looks a lot like burlap weave. Because of its thickness, this knitting pattern is great for many knit projects as scarves, pillows and blankets.

Knitting instructions:
Cast on a multiple of 6 sts + 5.
Row 1 (RS): * Purl 2, knit 1; rep from * to last 2 sts, purl 2.
Row 2: * Knit 2, purl 1; rep from * to last 2 sts, knit 2.
Row 3: Purl 1, * Slip 3 with yarn in front (wyif), purl 1, knit 1, purl 1; rep from * to last 4 sts, slip 3 wyif, purl 1.
Row 4: Knit 1, slip 3 with yarn in back (wyib), * knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, slip 3 wyib; rep from * to last st, knit 1.
Row 5: Repeat Row 1.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Row 7: Purl 1, * purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, slip 3 wyif; rep from * to last 4 sts, purl 1, knit 1, purl 2.
Row 8: Knit 2, purl 1, knit 1, *slip 3 wyib, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1; rep from * to last st, knit 1.
Repeat rows 1-8 until you have reached your desired length.
