Mock Cable Ribbing Stitch

Mock cables ribbing stitch pattern | knittingunlimited.blogspot.com

This knitting stitch looks like a real cable stitch but it is actually accomplished by using just basic knit and purl stitches along with yarn over and pass stitch over. This unique pattern is great to use as an accent to a hat, scarf, or blanket.

Knitting instructions:
Cast on: multiple of 4 sts + 2.
Row 1: Purl 2, * knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: Knit 2, * purl 1, yarn over, purl 1, knit 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: Purl 2, * knit 3, purl 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 4: Knit 2, * purl 3, knit 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 5: Purl 2, * knit 3, pass first knit st over last two knit sts, purl 2; repeat from * to end.
Repeat rows 2-5 until you have reached your desired length.
Please let me know if you cannot understand anything. Happy knitting!
